Police from China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates have conducted their first joint international law enforcement operation in Dubai, targeting telecom and online fraud networks, middleeastmonitor.com reports, citing China's Ministry of Public Security.

The operation resulted in the dismantling of nine fraud dens and the arrest of 276 suspects, according to the state-run news agency Xinhua.

Investigators established that the fraud rings operated by luring victims through fabricated romantic relationships on social media. Once trust had been established, suspects deceived victims into placing money into fraudulent high-return cryptocurrency schemes, causing significant financial losses.

A ministry official described the operation as a major milestone in Chinese efforts to expand international law enforcement cooperation. "Chinese police will continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation with more countries, carry out joint crackdowns, thoroughly dismantle telecom fraud dens, and make every effort to apprehend suspects involved in such crimes to effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of people in all countries," the official said.
