The Anti-Fraud Centre, operating under the emirate's General Department of Criminal Investigation, released the advisory as part of its continuous #BewareofFraud initiative. The goal is to keep the public informed about emerging digital threats.

Perpetrators are reportedly publishing bogus promotions for car and medical coverage at prices well under typical market value. These posts generate a fabricated sense of urgency, pushing people to pay before verifying legitimacy.

Those targeted usually receive instructions to send funds straight to the fraudsters, skipping normal safeguards. Frequently, the purported coverage turns out to be nonexistent, or the seller lacks authorization to operate within the Emirates.

Officials stressed that genuine insurers in the country work within a rigorous regulatory environment and follow established processes that secure buyer interests. Offers that stray dramatically from ordinary costs, or claim to deliver documentation instantly without proper checks, merit suspicion.

Residents should validate any company or intermediary through recognized government channels prior to completing transactions. Advertisements touting implausible bargains ought to be disregarded.

Suspected cases can be flagged through the Dubai Police eCrime portal or by dialing 901 for non-urgent matters.
