UAE drug trafficking network dismantled, 23 arrested in multi-emirate operation

The National Anti-Narcotics Authority, working alongside Ras Al Khaimah Police and other security agencies, has broken up an organised drug trafficking network operating inside the UAE, dubaieye1038.com reports.

The operation was launched after authorities received intelligence about narcotics concealed at a location within one of the emirates. Specialist teams moved in and detained two suspects in the act of transporting the drugs.

Investigations revealed the pair had been operating under direct instructions from a ringleader based abroad. Continued surveillance led to the arrest of 11 further suspects tied to the distribution network.

Follow-up raids across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ajman resulted in 10 additional arrests and further drug seizures, bringing the total number of suspects detained to 23.

Among the discoveries was a separate storage facility holding large quantities of marijuana, hash oil and synthetic cannabinoid materials.

All suspects and confiscated substances have been handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings and forensic analysis.

Officials stated the operation demonstrates effective coordination between the UAE's law enforcement agencies in targeting organised narcotics networks before the substances could reach circulation.
