Sharjah Police have arrested an Asian man accused of turning his private residence into a small-scale production facility for drug-laced e-cigarettes, dubaieye1038.com reports.
The Anti-Narcotics Department carried out the operation following a period of surveillance and monitoring that confirmed the suspect was in possession of narcotics intended for distribution. Officers raided the property and seized a quantity of manually filled electronic cigarettes, along with the tools and equipment used in the filling and packaging process.
Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, said investigations uncovered a sophisticated trafficking method. The suspect had manually loaded e-cigarette cartridges with narcotic substances and packaged them to resemble standard commercial vaping products.
Brigadier Al Asam stated that security services would continue to pursue drug-related crimes through precise plans based on monitoring, follow-up, and inter-agency coordination. He added that drugs represent a direct threat to the safety of young people, and that anyone found to be involved in importing or distributing such substances would be pursued without hesitation.
Sharjah Police also renewed a call for community vigilance, urging parents in particular to monitor their children's behaviour closely and maintain open dialogue within families to guard against drug abuse among youth.
