Counterfeit precious metals fraud has emerged as a recurring scheme in several Gulf markets, where criminals exploit buyers' trust by presenting fake items as authentic bullion. Detectives noted that such scams often target individuals lacking expertise in verifying metal purity.
The accused now face criminal charges related to fraud and deception. Investigators are examining whether the group has carried out similar offences against other victims in the emirate.
