Sharjah Police have arrested a man for burglary after surveillance camera footage placed his vehicle near the victim's home at the time of the break-in, magzter.com reports citing the Gulf Today.
The case was brought before the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court after the homeowner filed a complaint stating that his property had been broken into, valuables had been taken, and several windows and doors had been damaged.
The victim subsequently found that a wristwatch and silver coins were missing from his home. Footage from surveillance cameras in the area showed a man parking his vehicle close to the house around the time of the robbery.
Dedicated investigative teams used the recordings to track down, identify, and ultimately arrest the suspect. Upon his arrest, the competent authorities recovered the stolen items from his possession.
During interrogation, the burglar admitted to forcing entry into the house, taking the belongings, and causing damage to the windows and doors. He stated that he had acted alone.
