Records from the proceedings indicate the injured party entered the fraudulent domain believing it to be a genuine service for adding credit to his handset. He finalized an electronic transfer, only to later discover the platform was illegitimate and his funds were gone.

He then brought a civil action demanding recovery of the lost sum together with damages for the distress caused by the incident.

Judges ruled for the plaintiff, finding that the accused had extracted the money through dishonest tactics, which made them accountable for returning it.

The tribunal's written opinion stated the complainant had suffered both quantifiable losses and personal anguish after being cut off from his cash and subjected to online deception, making extra compensation appropriate alongside the principal repayment.

The decision arrives as law enforcement agencies across the Emirates continue issuing cautions about imitation websites and illegitimate payment gateways that pose as telecom operators and digital providers to siphon funds and harvest banking credentials from the public.
