Armed Bakery Robbery and Hatton Shooting Leave Man in Critical Condition

Two Violent Incidents in One Night as Antigua Police Seek Suspects

Antigua Observer reports that police are hunting suspects after two separate violent incidents on Tuesday night — an armed robbery at a bakery in Potters and a shooting in Hatton that left one man fighting for his life.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., a lone masked gunman entered Brownie's Bakery and demanded cash from the cashier. Police described the suspect as roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall and slimly built. He was wearing a red long-sleeved hoodie, a red bandanna across his face, sunglasses, and gloves. After taking an undisclosed sum of money, the gunman fled on foot and was reportedly seen getting into a silver Honda Accord, which then left the area.

Later that same night, at around 10:45 p.m., Trevor Underwood of Weatherhills Estate was shot while sitting inside his vehicle near Bruce's Night Club in Hatton. Underwood drove himself to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where doctors treated him for two gunshot wounds to the lower abdomen. Police said he was in critical condition and required emergency surgery.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
