Jamaican Homicide Fugitive Captured in Antigua
Law enforcement officers in Antigua and Barbuda have apprehended a Jamaican national who faces a murder charge back home. The capture took place during a Thursday morning raid in Liberta.
Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force joined other officers in the operation, as reported by Observer Media.
The accused, believed to live in Cedar Valley, was sitting in a motor van when police closed in. During a search of the vehicle, officers removed several electronic devices that may relate to the inquiry.
The van was driven to Police Headquarters for safekeeping. The prisoner and the confiscated goods were then moved to the St. John's Police Station.
Investigators are still probing the situation. Authorities have withheld the man's identity and have offered no further particulars about the Jamaican murder allegation.
