Officers in Antigua and Barbuda have captured a man from Jamaica who is accused of taking a life in his native country. The apprehension occurred during an early-morning sweep in Liberta on Thursday.

Antigua News reports that the raid involved detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force, among other personnel.

The individual, understood to make his home in Cedar Valley, was sitting in a motor van when the team closed in. Investigators inspected the automobile with him there and removed several digital devices they suspect may relate to the probe.

The vehicle was driven to Police Headquarters for holding. Both the prisoner and the recovered objects were then transferred to the St. John's Police Station.

Officials are continuing their inquiries. They have withheld the man's identity and have not elaborated on the homicide charge pending against him in Jamaica.
