Four teenagers and young adults were wounded during a late-night gun attack in the centre of St. John's.

The victims, whose ages range from 16 to 20, were walking near Joe Mikes, in the stretch between Corn Alley and Nevis Street, when shots were fired at them. The incident occurred late at night.

Emergency crews took all four to hospital with injuries to the hand, side and leg. Medical staff say each person is now in a stable condition.

Officers searched the surrounding area for evidence and are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the attack.
