Barbados Labourer Faces Drug Trafficking and Money Laundering Accusations
A 48-year-old manual worker from St Michael has been freed on bail after being hauled before a magistrate on accusations tied to narcotics and illicit finances.
Kelvin Anthony Tison, of Valerie High Rise in Brittons Hill, stood before the No. 2 District A Magistrates' Court, where no formal pleas were recorded. Prosecutors allege that on July 10 he had control of cannabis, moved the substance, and intended to pass it on to others. Court papers also say he took part in a financial deal involving $1,689.35, money that is claimed to have come from illegal sources.
Every count levelled at the accused is indictable. Presiding officer Manila Renee allowed him to go home after posting $5,000 in surety, pushing the hearing back to November 24.
