A 17-year-old Christ Church resident has been placed in custody awaiting trial after being charged with multiple offences tied to two alleged home invasions, including aggravated burglary and illegal firearm possession.

A 17-year-old resident of Christ Church is being held in prison ahead of his next court appearance after facing a string of charges connected to two separate alleged home invasions.

The adolescent stands accused of forcing his way into Marcel Leroy's dwelling and making off with jewellery. The items reportedly include three chains, three bangles, and four rings, all described as gold-coloured, with a combined worth of $3 900. Court documents say he carried a weapon during this incident.

In a second alleged break-in, the young man is said to have entered Lana Pennegan's house and taken $2 000 while again armed. He also faces claims that he behaved in a manner that endangered Shemariah Batson's life or physical safety. Another count alleges he possessed and used a gun without the required permit.

During the proceedings, Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick advised the defendant that every charge was indictable. The teen did not enter a plea and was ordered to remain in custody until 21 July, when the District 'A' Traffic Court will hear the matter.
