Detectives in Nassau have launched a manhunt after a 91-year-old complainant accused a relative of raping her in the Mount Royal Avenue district.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force said the senior citizen arrived at a station shortly past 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. She alleged that the attack occurred roughly five hours earlier, at about 5:00 a.m., and that the perpetrator was a member of her own family.

Criminal Investigation Department personnel attended to the report and ensured the accuser obtained medical treatment. The Sexual Offences Unit has since assumed control of the case, dispatching investigators to track down and apprehend the wanted individual. Officers are also gathering additional details from the elderly woman about the circumstances surrounding the offense.

Law enforcement has asked anyone with knowledge of the fugitive's whereabouts to reach out via emergency numbers 911 or 919, to visit any nearby police station, or to phone the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991. News of the allegation has stirred outrage online, with citizens horrified that someone would prey upon a relative of such advanced age. Several social media users argued that prison terms for such crimes are too soft and must be strengthened.

The report marks the third sexual attack to emerge in The Bahamas within seven days. The preceding two files involve adolescent victims and are still active.
