Authorities in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island have confiscated power tools believed to have been taken from an Ontario company. The merchandise was discovered at four separate retail outlets following a tip from the manufacturer.

Law enforcement officials in the Maritimes have tracked down and confiscated professional-grade gardening machinery that appears to have been pilfered from a southwestern Ontario warehouse months ago.

On June 23, officers executed searches at four separate storefronts. Two were located in Moncton, New Brunswick, while the remaining sites were on Prince Edward Island — specifically in Summerside, Charlottetown, and Montague. During these raids, hundreds of items carrying the STIHL brand were taken into custody.

The original burglary occurred in London, Ontario, back in February. At that time, intruders made off with inventory valued at close to $650,000. The recent seizures account for only a small portion — approximately $20,000 — of the total loss.

The investigation gained momentum after a company official reached out to police on June 17, raising concerns that specific merchants in the Atlantic region might be distributing illicitly obtained stock. This communication triggered the joint operation between the RCMP and local detachments.

Investigators from the Mounties are now coordinating with their counterparts at the London Police Service to determine the exact route these products travelled before appearing for resale in eastern Canada. No information regarding arrests or charges has been made public at this stage.
