Aurora man charged after indecent acts near two elementary schools
Toronto Police have charged a 66-year-old Aurora man following two separate alleged indecent acts at elementary schools in the Greater Toronto Area, Toronto Sun Crime reports.
The first incident allegedly occurred on May 27 at a school in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area, where multiple young students are said to have witnessed the act. A second incident allegedly took place on June 10 at a school in the Highway 7 and Warden Avenue area.
Paolo Novello has been charged with criminal harassment, indecent act – exposure, and indecent act. Police believe there may be additional victims and have released an image of the accused. Two GTA men charged in Toronto weekend homicide
Two men from the Greater Toronto Area have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a homicide in Toronto's Keele Street and Wilson Avenue area.
Officers responded to the scene at 6:01 a.m. on Sunday after reports of a group fighting and a man being struck by a vehicle. Life-saving measures were performed, but the victim — Erik Safar, 32, of Toronto — was pronounced dead at the scene. An unknown number of suspects fled in a light-coloured vehicle.
On Tuesday, Milan Andras Babos, 18, of Hamilton, and Richard Olah, 23, of Toronto, turned themselves in to police and were both arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Four charged after violent auto theft ring targeted York Region and GTA
York Regional Police have charged four people following a May 2026 investigation into a violent auto theft group operating across York Region, Toronto, and Peel Region — including incidents involving firearms.
On May 26, suspects attempted unsuccessfully to steal a vehicle near Woodbine Avenue and Shields Court in Markham. With assistance from Air Support and Canine units, investigators tracked the suspects to an address near Trevine Crescent and Westbrook Avenue in Brampton. Three suspects were taken into custody, a loaded firearm was recovered, and controlled substances were seized. A fourth suspect was arrested on June 3 near Highway 50 and McEwan Drive in Caledon.
Over the course of the investigation, three stolen vehicles with a combined estimated value of $400,000 were recovered.
Those charged are:
- Tejvir Singh Dhatt, 21, of Vaughan — four firearm-related charges, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
- Soban Malik, 21, of Vaughan — four firearm-related charges, two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance, and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
- A 17-year-old male of no fixed address — four firearm-related charges, two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance, and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
- Chanvir Singh, 19, of Caledon — one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Mississauga man charged after woman sprayed with irritant at Vaughan community event
York Regional Police have charged a Mississauga man after a woman was sprayed with an aerosol irritant at a community event in Vaughan on May 28.
At approximately 7:55 p.m., officers responded to a weapons call near Steeles Avenue West and New Westminster Drive. According to police, an unknown male approached the female victim during the event, had a brief interaction with her, and then sprayed her with an aerosol irritant before fleeing on foot near Conley Street and New Westminster Drive. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, Scott Kynnersley, 41, of Mississauga, was charged with four weapon-related offences and one count of failing to comply with probation.
