Second shooting outside Cricket Canada president's Surrey residence under extortion investigation

Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a second shooting outside the South Newton home of Arvind Khosa, the newly elected president of Cricket Canada, voiceonline.com reports.

Officers responded at approximately 4:02 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, to reports of shots fired outside a residence near 57 Avenue and 148 Street. The home was occupied at the time, but no injuries were sustained.

Police say the incident is believed to be extortion-related, citing prior threats and a previous shots fired incident outside the same residence on May 20. Khosa's presidency has been marked by ongoing controversy.

SPS's Extortion Response Team (ExRT) has assumed the lead on the investigation. The Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) is processing physical and digital evidence at the scene.
