A manhunt is underway in Ontario after a senior couple perished from wounds sustained during a violent encounter inside their dwelling.

Peel Regional Police received an emergency call around 7 p.m. on Thursday, directing them to a property situated close to Hurontario Street and Lakeshore Road East in Mississauga. Responding constables located two occupants — a man aged 70 and a woman aged 71 — who had sustained grave bodily harm.

Paramedics rushed both victims to a medical facility, but clinicians were unable to revive them. The pair succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter.

Investigators have named Jordan Sangwin, 46, as the individual they wish to locate. The deceased are understood to be his mother and father. While Sangwin is regarded as potentially carrying weapons and posing a threat, Inspector Mike Mavity emphasized that the wider community faces no ongoing danger.

Detectives do not believe the suspect shared the household with the victims.

Members of the public who possess knowledge that could assist in apprehending Sangwin are encouraged to reach out to Peel Regional Police.
