Man faces murder charge after fatal assault on Sargent Avenue

A 48-year-old man died following a fight at a West End home on Sunday. Global News Crime reports a 40-year-old suspect has been charged with second-degree murder.

Fatal assault on Sargent Avenue ends in murder charge

A 48-year-old man is dead and a 40-year-old suspect is in custody following a violent altercation at a West End Winnipeg residence, Global News Crime reports.

Officers responded Sunday to the 700 block of Sargent Avenue, where they found the victim with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived but was subsequently tracked down and taken into custody. He now faces a charge of second-degree murder.
