Ottawa murder-suicide: boys aged 7 and 12 found dead, father discovered in Kemptville

Ottawa police are investigating a murder-suicide after two boys were discovered dead inside a home and their father was found dead in a vehicle roughly 60 kilometres south of the city, castanet.net reports.

Officers conducted a wellness check this morning at a residence on Mandevilla Crescent, where they found the two children — aged seven and 12.

Provincial police are also securing several locations outside Ottawa believed to be connected to the case. Among them is a carpool lot in Kemptville, where the boys' father was found dead following a vehicle fire. A second linked location is a business in Iroquois, Ont., where fire broke out this morning as well.

Investigators are examining the connections between all three incidents. Police say they do not believe there is any continuing threat to the public.

The names of the boys and their father have not been released while next of kin are being notified.
