Unknown Medication Scattered Across Multiple Ottawa Parks Spurs Probe
Officers in Ottawa are examining a troubling case involving tablets strewn throughout three eastern green spaces, CBC reports.
On Saturday morning, a local person alerted authorities to pharmaceuticals lying in an unusual pattern throughout the green space known as Blue Willow Park, found along Longleaf Drive. Patrol members who arrived noted capsules dispersed among vegetation and turf, as well as tucked within acorn husks.
Subsequently, detectives uncovered similar substances at two adjoining recreation areas, Silverbirch Park and Ruisseau Park. All told, over 100 individual doses of differing sorts were gathered.
Specialists are currently examining the material to establish what it contains. Searches of the surrounding district are ongoing; however, inspections of other local recreation areas on Monday turned up nothing else out of the ordinary.
Members of the public who come across unidentified medicines are advised not to handle them and to alert investigators right away.
