A municipal parking warden sustained minor wounds Monday afternoon near Toronto's waterfront after being hit by a motorist who sped away following a dispute over a citation.
Law enforcement responded to the Queens Quay East and Richardson Street vicinity shortly before 2:30 p.m. The officer had placed a penalty notice on a white 2017 Mercedes-Benz C63S convertible when the registered operator returned.
According to investigators, words were exchanged between the two individuals. The motorist then entered the automobile and accelerated, allegedly striking the warden as well as another car before heading west along Queens Quay.
Authorities described the wanted individual as a male of medium stature with braided shoulder-length hair. At the time, he wore a black cap, white shirt, dark shorts, and white footwear.
Detectives are requesting anyone who captured images or recordings of the area around the time of impact to reach out. Tips can be provided directly to the Toronto Police at 416-808-1900 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
