Peel Regional Police were called to the scene at approximately 7:10 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene; age and sex have not been released.

No information on a motive has been provided. The suspect fled prior to officers arriving, police said.

A heavy police presence remained in the area as the investigation continued. Residents were urged to avoid the vicinity.
