Officers in York Region have arrested two youths in connection with a predawn residential robbery north of Toronto during which occupants were allegedly confronted with a weapon.

On May 15, shortly before 5 a.m., four masked individuals reportedly gained entry to a dwelling near Stormont Trail and Carling Road in Vaughan. Investigators say the intruders disturbed the sleeping household, brandished a weapon, and demanded valuables including cash, jewellery, and the keys to a high-end sports car parked on the premises.

The assailants then departed in the stolen vehicle, while a separate automobile carrying an additional accomplice followed.

A month after the incident, on June 15, tactical teams executed three simultaneous search operations at Toronto addresses. During the raids, law enforcement recovered a loaded handgun.

An 18-year-old was taken into custody and faces weapons-related charges. A 15-year-old was also detained and accused of robbery involving a firearm.

Both suspects were already out on court-imposed conditions for unrelated matters when the arrests occurred, according to the authorities.
