Winnipeg police are searching for two armed men who broke into a jewellery store on Corydon Avenue on 29 April, stealing a significant amount of jewellery.

Global News Crime reports that Winnipeg police are searching for two men suspected of carrying out an armed smash-and-grab robbery at a business on the 1700 block of Corydon Avenue on 29 April, around 12:30 p.m.

The Winnipeg Police Service's (WPS) major crime unit has been investigating the commercial robbery since late April, according to a news release issued Friday. The two men entered the shopping plaza business, broke a display case, and made off with an undisclosed but "significant" amount of jewellery, police said.

WPS alleges one suspect was armed with a handgun, whilst the other carried a hammer. Both men were described as wearing black jackets bearing a "West trans" logo, black neck warmers, blue Adidas hats, white shoes, and black trousers.

No arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
