Toronto Police and Durham Regional Police are investigating several separate incidents including a break-in, a stabbing, a hit-and-run, and a senior fraud case.
Toronto break-in suspect sought; Clarington man charged with attempted murder
Toronto Police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a break-in that occurred early Sunday morning in the Cosburn-Coxwell Aves. area, according to Toronto Sun Crime.
The incident took place at approximately 3 a.m., when a person forced entry into a home and was confronted by the homeowner before fleeing on foot. The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, approximately 6-foot-2 with a medium build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and grey Puma sweatpants.

Clarington stabbing: 65-year-old charged with attempted murder
In a separate case, Durham Regional Police have charged a 65-year-old Clarington man following a stabbing in Bowmanville on Monday morning.
Officers responded around 5:30 a.m. to the Queen-Temperance Sts. area after a victim flagged down a passing motorist and reported being stabbed multiple times near Rotary Park. Emergency personnel provided life-saving care at the scene before the victim was transported to a trauma centre in serious condition. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
A suspect was located shortly after in the Liberty St. S.-Prince St. area and taken into custody without incident. Theadore Joseph Hall has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, theft under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Teen driver charged after Clarington crash injures five youth
A 17-year-old male has been charged with three counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm following a collision in Clarington on April 15.
Durham Regional Police say the crash occurred at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Longworth Ave. near Jackman Rd., when a westbound Volkswagen hatchback collided with an eastbound Ford SUV. Six youth sustained injuries: four were taken to hospital with minor injuries, while two were transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Toronto assault: 18-year-old wanted on multiple charges
Toronto Police are seeking 18-year-old James Tryce of Toronto in connection with an assault that took place early Monday morning in the O'Connor Dr.-Sunrise Ave. area.
Police say the victim and suspect are known to each other. The two became involved in a verbal altercation before the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, who sustained minor injuries. Tryce is wanted on charges of assault/choking, breach of probation, failure to comply with a release order, and three counts of assault.

Hit-and-run in Port Lands leaves pedestrian with life-threatening injuries
Toronto Police are appealing to residents, businesses, and drivers in the Port Lands area to review their surveillance footage following a collision on Monday in the Carlaw Ave.-Commissioners St. area.
A 59-year-old man was driving a black Jeep SUV eastbound on Commissioners St. when the vehicle struck an unidentified woman who was crossing Carlaw Ave. walking northbound. The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Hamilton couple charged with defrauding vulnerable senior
Hamilton Police have arrested two people following an investigation into the alleged financial exploitation of a vulnerable senior family member.
On Wednesday, a 56-year-old male and a 54-year-old female were taken into custody after the victim was allegedly defrauded of a substantial amount of money. Both individuals have been charged with fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and identity fraud. To protect the victim's identity, Hamilton Police said they will not be releasing the names of the accused.
