Federal police took three people into custody last Friday during a raid tied to cross-border narcotics distribution in the Laurentians. Two of those apprehended have ties to Quebec.

During the search of a home in Saint-Sauveur, law enforcement recovered roughly 67 kilograms of cocaine, more than one hundred thousand dollars in cash, bullets, and multiple smartphones. Other pieces of evidence were also collected.

Investigators believe the illicit substances originated in South America and were transported inside cylindrical metal containers.

The trio was escorted to court in St-Jérôme on Friday to respond to allegations of drug importation and possession with intent to distribute. They were kept behind bars pending upcoming proceedings and are set to return for a detention review at a Montreal tribunal mid-week.

Another pair was briefly held, interrogated, and freed on the day of the raid. Officials noted that charges against them remain possible.
