A 16-year-old sought for a gunpoint break-in at a Montreal home was taken into custody by Saskatchewan police on Fairmont Drive and returned to Quebec to face weapons and burglary allegations.

A teenager wanted over a gunpoint intrusion at a Montreal home is now in custody after being picked up in Saskatoon. Law enforcement in Saskatchewan announced that the 16-year-old was taken into custody on Fairmont Drive shortly after 1:30 p.m. on July 15.

According to Wednesday’s announcement, Montreal’s police service reached out to Saskatoon colleagues in the spring to locate the fugitive. The search ended when officers detained him in the Prairie province earlier this month.

The adolescent was subsequently sent back to Quebec, where authorities have laid a string of serious criminal accusations. These allege he forced his way into a dwelling, shot a banned firearm, kept a loaded restricted pistol without authorization, sat inside an automobile with an illegal weapon, threatened people with a gun on two distinct instances, handled a shooter negligently, carried a weapon while offending, and conspired to break the law.
