A court in Toronto has delivered a guilty verdict against Frank Stronach on two charges of sexual misconduct. The 93-year-old industrialist, who holds both Austrian and Canadian citizenship, was convicted of assault and interference involving two separate female complainants, according to CBC as cited by ORF.

The Ontario Superior Court jury cleared the former Magna chief on three remaining counts. Throughout the proceedings, Stronach maintained his innocence and rejected every accusation brought against him. The incidents in question date back to the period between 1977 and 1990.

At the outset, prosecutors had pursued twelve charges. Five were dropped before the trial commenced, and the presiding judge indicated she would direct acquittal on two further points. The case that concluded this week represents the first of two separate legal battles for the elderly defendant.

Canadian news outlets report that thirteen women overall have made claims against Stronach. The Toronto trial dealt with allegations from seven of them.

A second jury proceeding, initially set for fall in Newmarket near Toronto, has been rescheduled to May 2027 and is anticipated to run for approximately four weeks.
