Law enforcement received emergency calls about a shooting near the junction of Cherokee Boulevard and Shawnee Circle, in the vicinity of Finch Avenue and Highway 404. Officers dispatched to the neighbourhood found proof that firearms had been discharged.

The adolescent casualty managed to reach a healthcare facility without assistance. Physicians examined him and concluded that his injuries, while serious, did not pose an immediate threat to his survival.

Police maintained a presence at the crime scene afterward. No announcements were made regarding the apprehension of potential suspects.
