Initially, police issued an active shooter alert urging citizens to leave the area immediately. The alert was later lifted after officers secured the vicinity around the intersection of St. Clair Avenue West and Arlington Avenue.

At the time of the evening press conference, no suspects had been arrested. Officers are reviewing surveillance camera footage and gathering witness statements to identify those responsible and reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
