Officers in Alberta's capital were called to the area around 106 Avenue and 113 Street shortly after dawn on Saturday following reports of a weapons-related disturbance. According to Global News, emergency personnel located a wounded man at the scene and rushed him to a medical facility, where attending physicians were unable to save him.

The matter is now under review by the city's homicide detectives. A post-mortem examination has been arranged for the start of the coming week.

Investigators are requesting assistance from residents and motorists who may possess recordings captured between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. that Saturday. Of particular interest is any imagery showing a dark sport-utility vehicle departing the broader neighbourhood. The zone of interest stretches from 111 Street to 115 Street, and from 103 Avenue to 107 Avenue.

Those holding potentially useful footage are encouraged to reach out to local law enforcement.
