A joint enforcement action has led to the detention of three men accused of running a narcotics distribution network.

As detailed by Global News, officers with the federal police force carried out arrests last week. The detained individuals include two residents of St-Sauveur, Quebec — Sébastien Morel, aged 42, and Evens Pierrelouis, aged 50 — alongside Rodrigue Gionet, 72, from Allardville, New Brunswick.

During a raid on a property in St-Sauveur, detectives recovered about 67 kilograms of cocaine. They also seized a significant sum of money totaling $115,000, along with bullets and several smartphones.

The trio was formally accused of importing and distributing illegal narcotics at a courthouse in St-Jérôme. They were held in custody pending a bail proceeding in Montreal.

On the same day as the search, two other people were taken in for questioning but subsequently released. Authorities noted that charges against them may be filed later as the investigation unfolds.
