Two shootings in east Toronto leave one injured, no suspects identified

Global News Crime reports that Toronto police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred in Scarborough in the early hours of Friday morning.

Officers responded to the Morningside Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East area just after 3 a.m., following reports of gunfire in a parking lot. An adult woman was found at the scene with a gunshot wound and was transported to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Approximately one hour later, police were called to Danforth Road and Gordonridge Place, north of Danforth and Midland Avenue, after reports of a shooting at an apartment building. Officers confirmed a firearm had been discharged; multiple units in the building showed signs of having been shot at from outside. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Police have not released suspect information in either case, and have not confirmed whether the two shootings are connected.
