Gunfire injures patron at Vaughan nightclub
A shooting inside a Vaughan entertainment venue left one customer wounded in the early hours of Sunday.
The Toronto Sun reports that officers from York Regional Police arrived at the establishment near Steeles Avenue and Scholes Road at approximately 2:20 a.m., responding to emergency calls about shots being fired.
Investigators believe a disagreement broke out among guests inside the club. Staff removed a woman from the location, after which two men confronted security. One of the men drew a pistol and fired, hitting a male customer.
The trio then ran from the scene, shooting more bullets toward the building as they escaped. No other visitors were harmed. Medical personnel transported the injured man to hospital; his condition is serious but he is expected to survive.
Law enforcement has issued descriptions of the three wanted persons. Suspect one is a young Black man, roughly 20 years of age, standing between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-7. He has braided or dreadlocked hair and wore a white T-shirt, a cap with a white "B" on it, and a black bag.
Suspect two is also a Black man about 20 years old, measuring 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-9, with a short afro hairstyle. He was dressed in a black jersey.
The third person is a Black woman with lengthy hair, seen in a white dress featuring fishnet straps.
Investigators urge anyone with knowledge of the event or mobile phone recordings to call 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7817, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
