A man in his late thirties was apprehended in Limassol when officers raided his house and discovered a hidden room used to cultivate marijuana plants.

Officers in Limassol placed a 38-year-old under arrest following a raid on his house that exposed a concealed indoor marijuana-growing operation, according to an official statement issued Thursday.

Inside the property, investigators identified a dedicated chamber that had been modified specifically for cultivating the illegal substance.

The haul recovered from the premises included roughly half a kilogram of dried marijuana, a dozen plants at various stages of growth, and additional seeds.

The detained individual is scheduled to face a judge at the Limassol district courthouse later Thursday. Detectives say their inquiry is still underway.
