Law enforcement personnel placed eight people under arrest during a series of coordinated overnight actions spanning the entire island, according to an official announcement released Saturday. The initiative represented part of a wider campaign designed to suppress major criminal conduct and maintain orderly conditions in public spaces.

Those taken into custody faced allegations across multiple categories: working without legal authorization, serving as unlicensed private security guards, and committing various infractions on the road.

Throughout the night, officers pulled over and scrutinized 621 automobiles and checked the credentials of 952 travellers. Fifty-eight business locations underwent examination intended to detect unlawful practices, producing 14 documented cases of misconduct.

Traffic enforcement yielded 392 formal notices for rule-breaking on the roads. Another 14 situations involving possible driving violations remain under probe. Eleven automobiles were confiscated during the course of these examinations.

Excessive velocity proved the dominant breach, with 132 operators ticketed for surpassing permitted speeds. Impairment from drinking also featured prominently, generating 31 cases of motorists navigating while intoxicated. Screening for substance use additionally produced two operators who tested positive in initial examinations.

Overall, 213 individuals agreed to breath testing, while six submitted to checks for drug consumption.

Officials stated that protecting residents and ensuring orderly public conditions remain the core purposes behind these enforcement drives.
