A total of eleven people were placed under arrest during a sweeping law enforcement operation carried out on Sunday evening across multiple urban zones in Cyprus. The coordinated raids were designed to tackle serious lawbreaking and improve citizen safety, according to an official communication from the force, as detailed by Cyprus Mail.

Charges levelled against those apprehended span numerous violations: unauthorised holding of controlled substances, possession of performance-enhancing drugs, intent to distribute narcotics, proceeds of crime offences, stolen property, carrying an offensive blade, untaxed merchandise, larceny, and immigration breaches.

Personnel concentrated their efforts on districts considered prone to unlawful conduct. The stated objective was to stop major crimes before they occur, uphold civic order, and heighten residents' feeling of protection.

During the course of the action, law enforcers pulled over 554 vehicle operators and 126 riders for verification. Forty-three commercial or residential sites were searched, producing eight official reports of wrongdoing.

Traffic policing played a substantial role. A combined 399 penalties were handed out for roadway infractions, while another 23 potential breaches remain under examination. Excessive velocity was the single most common violation, with 104 instances logged.

Nineteen automobiles were confiscated. Screening for intoxication included 69 breath tests; six drivers were subsequently accused of operating under the influence of alcohol. Separately, four road users returned positive results in initial narcotics screenings conducted at the roadside.

Officials characterised these measures as components of a sustained, everyday plan built around greater visibility on the streets, pinpointed examinations, and rapid deployment to clamp down on illegal activity and safeguard the community.
