Paphos hotel employee held over stolen gold ornaments
Law enforcement in Paphos detained a housekeeping worker on Thursday following a holidaymaker’s complaint that ornaments made of gold valued at approximately €1,000 had vanished from her lodging. The Cyprus Mail reported that the traveller realised upon re-entering her quarters that a pair of golden accessories were no longer there. Probing by the establishment’s management together with constables revealed that the detainee had gained entry using a universal pass, despite the fact that tidying that particular suite fell outside her duties. While being interviewed by detectives, she purportedly acknowledged responsibility for the disappearance of the valuables. She remains behind bars as the probe moves forward.
