Paphos photovoltaic fraud: 67-year-old arrested over €9,800 scam
Police arrested a 67-year-old man in Paphos over an alleged €9,800 photovoltaic-panel fraud dating back to January 2024.

Police in Paphos placed a 67-year-old man under arrest on Thursday night in relation to a suspected scam that netted €9,800, according to a Cyprus Mail report (https://cyprus-mail.com/2026/07/31/man-arrested-over-photovoltaic-scam).
The investigation concerns events dating back to January 2024, when the individual allegedly told a customer that he ran a firm and contracted to fit photovoltaic panels at the person’s property. After collecting the agreed sum, he purportedly failed to perform the installation. Detectives further determined that the company name he provided was not registered.
The suspect had been sought by authorities prior to his capture. The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department is pursuing the case.
