A Paphos district judge issued six-day detention orders for a pair of young men following an anti-drug operation in the coastal town. The suspects, aged 29 and 21 years old, were taken into custody on Tuesday.

The operation began when officers from the specialised narcotics unit (Ykan) pulled over the duo's car in the Kato Paphos area on Monday afternoon, acting on a tip. Inside the vehicle, detectives located a small amount of cannabis, half a gramme of crystal meth, and several hundred euros.

Investigators then obtained a warrant to search the residence shared by the suspects. There, they seized additional illicit materials: roughly one gramme of cocaine, ten grammes of methamphetamine, over seventy Captagon pills, close to two hundred grammes of cannabis, and more than four thousand euros.

The total cash recovered from both the automobile and the house exceeded four thousand nine hundred euros. The variety of substances found suggests involvement in distribution rather than personal use.

The Paphos branch of Ykan is pursuing inquiries into possible drug dealing and illicit financial activity connected to the case. Both individuals remain behind bars as the probe continues.
