A 36-year-old suspect was taken into custody following an incident where gunfire struck a couple's home in Paphos.

Authorities have detained a 36-year-old individual suspected of discharging a firearm at a dwelling in the Paphos region, it was confirmed on Friday.

The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, approximately at 3:50 a.m., when the residence of a 41-year-old male and a 37-year-old female came under fire. Bullets struck the property's timber entrance, yet remarkably neither resident was harmed, according to the Cyprus Mail.

Through investigative work, law enforcement identified the alleged perpetrator. He was seized by officers during the evening of Thursday and subsequently placed in detention.

The probe into what transpired is still underway, officials stated.
