The head of a Cypriot livestock breeders' group reported to police that he was threatened with a firearm late on Tuesday. Neophytos Neophytou, who leads the "Voice of Livestock Breeders," went to a police station around 11:25 pm to report the incident, which occurred on the Delikipos-Lythrodontas road.

According to the Cyprus Mail, three people on two motorcycles blocked Neophytou's path. One rider pulled out a handgun and threatened him, while the other pair shattered the front glass of his car.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency, Neophytou declared he would not back down. He noted that surveillance devices were installed near the scene and called on investigators to review the recordings to track down the perpetrators.

The association emerged during the recent foot-and-mouth disease crisis and has been vocal in opposing state measures, particularly the slaughter of thousands of animals and what members see as insufficient financial redress. Members have staged multiple protests, including one that blocked traffic at the Rizoelia roundabout.

Neophytou insisted the group would maintain its course and continue pressing for farmers' interests.
