Second suspect remanded in Morphou kidnapping case

A 40-year-old man was remanded for three days by the Nicosia district court in connection with the kidnapping of a 69-year-old woman in the Nicosia district.

Second suspect remanded in Morphou kidnapping case

Judicial authorities ordered a 40-year-old male to remain behind bars for three days on Tuesday. He is believed to have participated in seizing a 69-year-old female in the Nicosia district area during the week before.

The magistrate handed down the remand ruling on Tuesday morning. Officers had taken the individual into custody the day before.

A younger male, aged 24, who had already served six days under lockup, was also presented before the same bench on Monday. His detention was prolonged by another four days.

The inquiry into the incident remains active.
