Six people were detained during coordinated overnight police operations around Cyprus on Tuesday night, with suspects arrested on suspicion of forgery, drug possession and illegal stay.

Six people were detained during coordinated overnight police operations around Cyprus on Tuesday night, the Cyprus Mail reported (https://cyprus-mail.com/2026/08/19/six-arrested-in-overnight-police-operations-4).

Law enforcement carried out structured patrols in urban areas, conducting 442 vehicle checks and screening 225 drivers. Officers also inspected 41 premises as part of the initiative.

The suspects were apprehended on suspicion of forgery, illicit drug possession, possession of stolen property and unauthorised residence in the Republic.

Additionally, authorities recorded 258 traffic-offence reports and seized six vehicles throughout the operations.
