A police tip-off led to the recovery of several firearms and ammunition near the village of Koutrafas in the Nicosia district on Saturday.

A tip to the police led to the discovery of an arms dump in a field within the Nicosia region on Saturday; the matter was made public on Sunday. Members of the force reached the spot, situated near the village of Koutrafas alongside the old highway toward Troodos, shortly after half past two in the afternoon.

There they retrieved a semi-automatic rifle, two handguns, two sound suppressors, three ammo clips, and sixty-six bullets of differing sizes. Specialists will now analyse the haul in a laboratory.
