The Central Finland Police announced late on Friday that they were investigating an act of violence in central Tampere. The emergency centre received notification of a collision between a tram and a person on Hämeenkatu shortly after 9 p.m.
According to those present at the scene, it was an intentional act: someone knocked the victim onto the tracks.
Police arrested the suspected perpetrator shortly after the incident. The act is being investigated as an attempted murder.
