In the early hours of Saturday, 27 June, at 4.30 a.m., Häme police received a report of a violent incident in Lahti's Laune district. Units sent to the scene detained a 46-year-old man.
The investigation has established that the man in question is the father of the family. He is suspected of attacking his spouse with a bladed weapon. Violence was also used against a minor child who was present at the time of the incident.
Police have filed charges against the suspect for attempted manslaughter and assault. Authorities have not provided further details at this time.
