A person travelling by bicycle in the Oulu region has attacked pedestrians on several occasions over the past year. According to authorities, at least eight such violent incidents have been recorded.
In four of these, the perpetrator was armed with a bladed weapon, which makes the offences particularly serious. All of the assault victims have been of foreign background, but they have recovered with relatively minor injuries.
The first reported attack occurred in May 2024 in the Kaukovaintio area. The most recent case happened last weekend. Authorities are urging victims and witnesses to contact the emergency services on 112.
