Attempted murder case at Keimola Hill in Vantaa begins in district court – accused denies charges
A middle-aged woman is accused of attempted murder of two defenceless relatives in Vantaa. The matter was heard at East Uusimaa District Court on Monday.

According to Yle.fi, the prosecutor is seeking punishment for a middle-aged woman on charges of attempted murder of two relatives – a woman and a man – as well as two aggravated payment instrument fraud offences. The hearing of the case began at East Uusimaa District Court on Monday.
The case stems from an April police operation at Keimola Hill in Vantaa, where police had a task related to protection of life and health in a private flat. According to the prosecutor, the suspect had written a suicide note in which she specified that neither she nor her relatives should be resuscitated.
According to the prosecutor's view, the background to the act was an eviction carried out by the enforcement office. As a result of a legal process lasting over a year, all three had been evicted from the flat. The suspect had failed to find new accommodation by the afternoon of the eviction day due to financial difficulties.
The acts remained as attempts because a representative of the rental company arrived at the scene by chance. The relatives' injuries were life-threatening, and the prosecutor considers it highly probable that they would have died without urgent medical care.
According to the prosecutor, both victims were completely defenceless – they depended on the suspect for daily care for health reasons and neither had external contacts. The acts were committed, according to the prosecutor, with careful deliberation and in a particularly brutal manner.
The payment instrument fraud charges relate to the suspect's actions on her relatives' bank accounts.
The suspect denies both attempted murder charges but admits, primarily, to two aggravated assaults. She also denies the payment instrument fraud charges but admits to basic fraud. In addition, she requests a mental state examination.
